How to Charge a Scissor Lift
A lot of individuals appreciate the ease of using a scissor lift. The convenience of working and the security offered from the lift's basket offer much more piece of mind than trying to perform a similar job utilizing the step of a ladder. The safety risks involved with this machine make it the right choice for completing jobs from heights.
Nearly all scissor lifts are operated by batteries that are internally mounted in the base of the lift. These batteries need to be charged following a long shift or due to sitting after extended periods without use. It is a simple job to charge the batteries. This could be carried out without any specialized tools or equipment and needs no heavy labor.
The machine needs to be parked near an electrical output in order to prepare the scissor lift for charging. This charging place must also be in a well-ventilated place. Next, in order to avoid another operator from driving away with the lift plugged in, press the emergency shut-off switch. The emergency shut off switch is the large red button situated inside the basket of the lift, near the control box or the charger. Find the battery charger on the right side of the base of the lift. Normally, older models will have the charger mounted on the rear of the lift.
Then, plug the charger into the AC extension cord. Be certain you are charging in an area which is well ventilated and afterward plug the extension cord into an electrical outlet. So as to avoid accidental damage from being run over, the length of the electrical cord on the battery charger is intentionally short. This is because if any extra length were to drop out of the battery charger storage area when in use, extreme danger could likely occur.
