Used Kalmar Dual Fuel Forklifts Salinas

Used Kalmar Dual Fuel Forklifts Salinas

In nearly all cases, most people spend quite a lot of money buying their forklift. Thus, it is extremely important to take proper care of it so as to protect your investment well into the long run. It is a great idea to know the procedures which are undertaken during maintaining and taking care of this machine.

By starting up the forklift and listening closely how it runs is among the best ways to tell how good the engine is working. For example, if there are any knocks or misses, the machine is faulty and this should raise several concerns. Also listen closely for any squealing noise which come from the belts as these noises would provide you with a lot of information.

Some of the main parts requiring attention during maintenance consist of the gauges, horn, safety warning devices, the overhead guard and the lights. Any faulty components or burnt out light bulbs have to be replaced as soon as they are noticed. It is also vital to inspect the wiring.

When the above components have been inspected thoroughly, proceed to the battery compartment in order to see if the terminals are clean. If the terminals are not clean, be sure to clean them properly. Every battery cell must be inspected in order to ensure the fill level is topped up to the regulated amount.

An oil change is the next step to drain all the oil out of the machinery and then change the filters. The fuel filters, hydraulic filter and the transmission filter should be replaced regularly. Before fitting them, be sure to write the date on the new filters by using a permanent marker to be able to keep track.

After the oil change is done and the filters have been replaced, a visual inspection of the drive axle needs to be performed. If there is a grease fitting on the axle make sure to apply some grease. Inspect the engine belts for any cracks or frays. If you find any, fix the problem accordingly. After that, check every other part of the machine including the wheels. If any kind of issue or fault is detected, be certain to deal with it immediately in order to make sure the equipment is working at its safest and optimum levels.
