Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Salinas

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used to transport products and materials around on wooden pallets using metal forks mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump which raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one individual.

Pallet trucks should be operated with care in order to prevent loss of control while raising heavy loads. Machine must be checked prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Make certain that the handle can turn smoothly. The pallet must be stacked carefully in order to ensure that nothing would fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level found on the inside of the metal loop to be able to lower the forks and release the air in the pump. The forks can then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks must be at the center to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has fully cleared the ground. Do not lift the pallet very high or the forklift could unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is dangerous to push the pallet ahead of you as the thrust could cause it to lose control. Slowly take turns and don't attempt to stop suddenly. Slowly stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
