Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic lift trucks offer versatility and height. These units are equipped with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck. The crane, or arm, is referred to as a telescopic boom. The boom allows the operator to maintain a high degree of control while raising the load to great heights. Regular forklifts can not move the load towards and away from the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift can allow that movement. The telescopic forklift is usually utilized in both construction and agriculture. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is necessary.
In situations requiring high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are recommended. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that allow the operator to use uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It is available with a backrest that protects the cargo from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is utilized for storing systems which don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forks on the forklift. This type of system is useful for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A man basket is a lift platform designed specifically to raise workers. The basket attaches to the forks on the forklift, held in with a chain or strap that is to be directly secured to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the employees from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are used for fastening the safety harness of the worker.
