Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Rider or Walkie is a Motorized Pallet Truck that is basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Rider" versions as well as "Walkie" models.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk alongside the machine as they lift and transport cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within manufacturing applications and warehouses. They are extremely maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to pick up and transport unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider might be the perfect answer if you are looking for an inexpensive way of transporting cargo from one place to another. If though, you are required to move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit instead of a pallet jack, the walkie model might be the best choice.
Order Selector
The order selector or order picker is a piece machinery made specially for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator in an effort to facilitate manual unloading and loading from racking areas.
Usually, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle that can function in smaller aisles. They are really useful pieces of machine during cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, though models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
